The bread and butter of an alpaca farm is a strong white program and to achieve that you need a white male so exceptional that he can improve on the some of the finest fleece that a huacaya can possess. Our fawn herdsire, El Nino’s Golden Legend, has gotten a lot of attention at our farm, but we knew that our light color program would not have legs unless we had a white male that was Legend’s equal. This brought about the creation of Mile High Peruvian Bandimere. This is a male that we bred and raised with the intention of him being the next premiere white herdsire for our farm. We have always had strong fawn herdsires, but often in looking to existing white males outside of our program we had trouble finding something that had all the characteristics that we wanted. So, we selected the strongest male and female breeding pair that we could think of and literally hoped for a white male. Bandimere’s sire is Brilliance of Peru (owned by Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch). We saw this male standing in his stall at a show and were awestruck. When we got our hands on his crimpy, bright and fine fleece, awe turned to love. We wanted our own in white. We knew who daddy was going to be so all we had to do was select mom. We wanted a female with the coverage and substance of bone to add to Brilliance’s wonderful fleece. This led us to First Star Delight, a striking white that speaks for herself in her pictures. She has produced blue-ribbon winners in white and dark as proven by Peerless Bay’s Studley Do Right and Chocolate Dovey. We matched this male and female for their strengths and kept our fingers crossed. We were blessed with a white male that was a head-turner from day one. As he matured his achievements in the ring proved us right. He has won 2 color and 3 reserve-championships and 7 blue ribbons. He is the sire of the strongest whites in our show string including blue ribbon winners Mile High Lady Antebellum and Mile High Centurion. His light fawn male, Mile High Bandimere’s Murano, is leading our fawn crop in blue ribbons this year. He is also the sire of Mile High Bandimere’s Daytona, a dark brown that we cannot wait to get into the show ring with his second fleece. This little guy has got a fleece from his father that is bright and crimpy and which we have a hard time believing can be possessed by a dark animal. We gave him a bath just to check. If you want a white male that has the scope to build your white program and the foundation of your farm name; Bandimere is it. Even for breeders that have the best of white females, Bandimere’s quality is all encompassing. We bred this male to be the total package so that he would be able to improve the offspring of any female. White alpacas are a force unto themselves, and we believe this guy is one of the best out there. Chipita (SOLD)

HuacayaBred (Female)True Black
AOA# 1419283DOB: 9/13/200420 yrs
Chipita is an outstanding female, very easy to care for and one great dam We have uploaded photos of her brown male cria sired by Mile High Bandimere, named Bandimere's Daytona. For only $5,000 you can own this proven true black female breeding now to our champion, Mile High Prince Valiant. Expect a cria due spring of 2013. Proven to be an excellent mother and easy breeder as evidence by her recent female crias, Leona and Rhianna (both sold easily and fast) Chipita is a conformationally balanced and a well proportioned female. She has a delightful personality and is very compatible with her herd mates. We love her beautiful full covered and heavy top knot that frames a very true to type haucaya head. Short squared off nose that includes depth and fullness. In addition, Chipita has gorgeous big black eyes and a bite that's right on, never requiring maintenance. Although Chipita's fleece is dense with excellent staple length and great uniformity, nonetheless, as in the case with many blacks, we have easily and successfully improved the fineness when breeding her to our herd sires. Chipita is currently bred to Mile High Prince Valiant, another "fine and dense" male and with this match we are expecting another super offspring to offer you.

Description

Mile High Daytona is that rich mahogany color with black points that is striking and catches the eye. Yet, when you open his fiber you won’t believe your eyes. It’s a fleece that we have a hard time believing is possessed by a dark animal. He has a tight consistent crimp from skin to tip. It is bright, dense, and very fine. We are very excited to have this male make his mark in the show ring. He has only just begun his show career and won a class of 13 animals at GWAS 2012. His father is multi-champion Mile High Peruvian Bandimere, our premiere white herdisre, a male that we raised and sought to create for the role of spearheading our white program. Through his sire, Daytona has some of the strongest fiber genetics on the market. His grandfather is Brilliance of Peru (owned by Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch), a male that turned our heads at a show and we sought to replicate by breeding our strongest white female to him. We knew Brilliance’s fine popcorn-like fiber was about as good as alpaca genes permit. We were thrilled to achieve this in our stud Bandimere. But, imagine this in a colored male. This is what we got in Daytona. Daytona’s mother is Chipita, a foundation female in our black breeding program. Chipita produces those dark-colored typey cria that sell by appearance alone. People visit the farm, notice one of her coal black cria standing regal and statuesque in the pasture, look at the fiber and fall in love even more. Chipita has given us colored babies each time, no matter the color of the sire. We saw the opportunity to really push for a superb black or brown cria by breeding her to Bandimere. And that’s exactly what happened. Daytona is the step forward in our color program that we aim for with each cria, but can’t always achieve. He has the regal presence to gain your attention, and the quality of fiber to make you do a double take. This is a male that will improve on the next generation of alpacas. We believe this guy has the potential to be one of the best dark-colored herdsires in the country. He has the scope of fiber quality and conformation that put him ahead of the curve for the standard dark alpaca. With the traits he has to offer his offspring will be at the forefront in the show ring.
