Brigantin’s first cria was an outstanding bay black female who is absolutely buttery soft, dense, and crimpy. We were not wrong as she took blue ribbons at both MAPACA and PAOBA in 2007. Absolutely incredible! Brigantin’s second cria was born in the spring of 2008 and garnered 4th and 5th place ribbons at PAOBA and MAPACA in 2009. She is a finer, more uniform, and true black version of her older sister and was able to add a Championship feece banner at PAOBA this year as well as a Reserve Championship banner at MAPACA. Her third cria was another beautiful true cria but this time a male. A full brother to Galena he has all of her fleece characterisitcs and then some. This boy followed in his sisters footsteps winning a Reserve Championship at MAPACA and Championship at PAOBA for black fleece. Oh yes he also placed first in the true black halter class at PAOBA as yearling. Brigantin is not only a great mom but is also a great fiber producer. She produced 8.4 pounds of fleece while carrying her first cria. Did we mention that this same fleece that placed second at PAOBA behind none other than our own herdsire Charleston. Quite impressive for a pregnant female. Charleston is the sire of Brigantin's second and third cria and we were so pleased with both of these offspring that we rebred Brigantin to Charleston. We are anticipating another soft, lusterous, and crimpy true black cria from this pairing. Brigantin is a demonstrated producer of show quality offspring in both halter and fleece and truly part of the foundation of the future of black. Brigantin just delviered her fith cria a true black female that is reminiscent of her older full brother and Championship winning brother Matrix.
