Charleston is our beautiful true black herdsire. He has proven himself with very solid performances in the show ring as a juvenile and yearling and his adult life has been even more impressive with first place fleece show finishes and the arrival of his Championship producing crias. Charleston’s halter show career finished with a second place behind eventual national champion Zeph’s Cormorant and nearly took the reserve champion spot essentially finishing third in a class of 41 black males at PAOBA. He continues to maintain an outstanding soft handling bright fleece even at almost 6 years of age. His two 1st place fleece show finishes at MAPACA and PAOBA in 2008 are representative of the quality that he possess for the future of the fiber industry. Equally exciting is that Charleston’s 2008 MAPACA fleece win placed him above the MAPACA 2006 halter color champion, quite an incredible achievement. We think that Charleston is a great breeding value and posses the qualities of a truly elite black fleece with outstanding consistency from year to year. Most importantly Charleston's crias are here and they are top notch. His first two crias already have four fleece championships between them. Charleston had some big shoes to fill. We bred him to three dams that had just had crias (1st, 2nd, and 5th at MAPACA) to multiple championship winning herdsires Snowmass Invincible and SCF Lucky Luciano. The amazing thing is that Charleston created darker versions of these first three pairings with amazingly similar fleece quality and conformation. We think that Charleston is an outstanding breeding value.A number of his crias are here at Stone Meadow Alpacas have done well and halter ring and even better in the fleece arena. You are welcome to stop by and see these wonderful little fleece machines and of course to see Charleston. Bring your females along for a drive-by breeding at a 50% discount.

Description

Granite was our wonderful little Halloween treat. He has amazing structure to his fleece. You can feel the soft crimpy bundles without even opening him up. This is a young male that has been a joy to watch grow up. It is exciting to see the brightness, density, and structure all combined into such a dark uniform color of grey. While we were hoping for blacks out of Granite's dam Charlotte she has produced two very incredible grey males. We have decided to hold on to 50% interest in this little guy because of his excellent quality and since we recenlty sold his mom and older brother. Congratulations to Kate Brown of Beech Springs Alpacas who now co-owns Granite with us. Granite will be heading to North Carolina near the Outer Banks this fall to kick-off his breeding career. If your on your way to the beach stop by and see him for yourself or if you are at MAPACA or PAOBA this spring please stop by to see him there.
