Mixtli is a gorgeous, medium rose gray, with a rare bloodline combination. His sire is Snowmass Red Hot Cognac, a traditional Incan type alpaca with elite, dark fawn fleece, carrying 5Peruvian Ajoyani and 6Peruvian Silent Night, some of the finest black bloodlines imported from Peru. Mixtli’s dam is a very fine-fleeced white girl with the gray bloodlines of FDA Paladin, and black bloodlines, as well. Mixtli’s fleece placed 2nd at 2009 AOBA World Fleece Show. Cameron Holt gave Mixtli’s fleece a perfect 20 score on fineness and handle. He also placed second in halter behind the color champion at the 2009 Topeka show. Mixtli has produced a mix of colors. True Black, silver gray, rose gray, and even white, with a wisp of gray in the tail. His 2013 grey boy won Mixed Male Championship at the 2014 Houston Livestock ALSA Halter Show and Second Place Juvenile Gray Male at the 2014 TXOLAN Spectacular. Unfortunately, Mixtli died this year while I was out of town. This posting is for reference only.

Though not much to look at, this tall, lanky, brown mom has produced some wonderful cria. Her sire is Peruvian Andrajo G179, Misty Ridge’s late premier stud imported with Hemingway and Bueno. At 20+ years, Andrajo still had 23.8 micron fleece. Regina has produced beige, fawn, gray, black, and brown cria. Regina just couldn't handle the first cold front of the season, so I had to let her go at 21 years old. Quite the matriarch. Listing is for reference only.

Description

Boy, what a color change. Born rusty reddish brown with gray patches. After shearing, he started his turn. Now, beautiful rose gray with red spots, just like his sire. This will make an awesome yarn. His sire carries bloodline of Snowmass Red Hot Cognac, and his dam is a daughter of the late Peruvian Andrajo. Both carry super fineness. Just back from 2014 TxOLAN Spectacular. Whodat came in second place, and beat out the sons of several big name studs. Another update, won Mixed Male Championship at the ALSA Houston Livestock Show under David Barbosa. SOOO proud of him!!
