Our top herdsire, Snowmass Peruvian Casanova was the high seller at the 2002 Celebrity Futurity Auction where he sold for an amazing $147,000! He had a micron count of 18.3 at 3.5 years of age and his recent histogram was still under 25 microns at over 9 years of age! Casanova took home the prestigious Futurity Herdsire of the Year honors in 2003 for his outstanding offspring! Not only that, in 2005, the Futurity Dark Herdsire of the Year was a Casanova son, Snowmass Nova, who sold in early 2006 for over $300,000! It's the first time ever that a sire and his progeny have won this prestigious award! With all the Champion progeny that he has produced, what would a Casanova offspring do to enhance your sales list? Limited outside breedings available in 2012. He will be standing stud in Chicago area from June until December.

Description

Canaletto is one of the finest and most striking dark fawn males born to Snowmass Alpacas of full Peruvian decent of Grey lineage. Canaletto has extraordinarily dense fiber with amazing fineness and character that extends from his top knot down through his neck and into body. He has an extremely uniform super fine fleece and has consistently passed the fineness and uniformity between primary and secondary fibers off to his offspring. His fleece did not increase by even a full micron for almost 5 years, and this strong genetic propensity for fineness is seen in his crias, with the majority of them being in the 19-20 micron range. His sire, the famous gray Snowmass Peruvian Casanova was also been a top seller and AOBA Herdsire of the Year. Full Peruvian, this exceptional male will take any breeders colored breeding program to the top. 2003: 19.9 SD 4.2 CV 21 %> 30 1.6 2004: 19.8 SD 4.4 CV 22.2 %>30 1.8
