What a great match-up this was for color and fiber! Chieftain's numbers from his 2007 histogram are MOST impressive, and even more impressive is his ability to maintain those wonderful fiber stats. Chieftain has earned Blue ribbons and Banners as a juvenile, yearling, and mature male. With seventeen Blues he has been judged by just about everyone and all agree...this is one awesome male. Chieftain has proven his ability to maintain his outstanding fleece characteristics even as a breeding male. During the Spring 2009 show season, he added two Color Championships (PAOBA and MAPACA), one Reserve Color Championship (Nationals), and the Judge's Choice Award at PAOBA. Judge Mike Safley compared him to a juvenile for the Championship at MAPACA and declared him the finest in the class. What a great compliment for a three year old! This year Melody Lane Tambora sheared a total weight of 10.1 pounds. Holy Cow!!! Staple length at 5 inches or more, bold crimp, shine. You have to see her in person to appreciate what this older female has to offer. 2016 July AOA national fleece conference, Tambora took a blue ribbon for first time full fleece competition. Highest score for fineness/handle, uniformity in micron/length. Absence of guard hair. This year Pavarotti produced a total weight fleece of 8.6 pounds at time of shearing. He continues to grow over 5 1/2 inches of fiber each year with a buttery/oily handle with soft and small tight crimp. Pavarotti is a beautiful light fawn which makes his coloring very desirable and sought after. His raw fiber sold immediately at the 2016 shearing. Yarn and roving is available for sale. His first full fleece competition at the AOA National Fleece Conference brought in comments from judge Amanda VanderBon such as: highest score for fineness and handle, high score for uniformity of micron and length of fiber.
