Hannah birthed a male Huacaya cria today (July 5th) at about 12:45 p.m. The cria is a pinto, looking just like mom. The cria was 20.1 lbs at birth. Sire of the cria is Helderberg Nevada. -------------------------------------------------- Hannah was born September 6, 2004. She is a pinto (white and medium brown). Hannah of Redwood Ridge is a medium sized, elegant dam who is a white and bay black pinto with teddy bear fringed ears. Her exceptionally fine, bright fleece has a truly elite hand and very long staple. She births her crias easily and at a good weight. Her Little girls (2007 and 2008) were both up and nursing within the hour and had easily doubled their weight by within their first month. Hannah's fleece is one of her best qualities: She has had the most lustrous fleece with the finest hand and longest staple of anyone on our farm. Her fleece has won ribbons both raw and spun. She has produced four cria for New Moon Alpacas - Rowan of NMA (May 2007, female), Golden Ion of NMA (June 2008, female), Remington's Gold Standard of New Moon (January 2010, male), and a male cria (not yet registered) on July 4th, 2011. Her sire is Derwydd Peruvian Huiyari. Her sire's lineage is the import, 4Peruvian Starr Khan 6003. Hannah's dam is Phoebe of Redwood Ridge. From her dam, her lineage includes Justice of Redwood Ridge, The Goldsmith HST G460, and Woz.

Description

Golden Ion of NMA, a Peruvian Ion grand-daughter, was born on June 1, 2008. She is a well conformed cria with a wealth of golden curls.... there is good crimp and bundling. She is gaining well. Her mother is a Pinto, but she is a solid fawn with deeper gold eye ridges and eye penciling in black at the lash lines. This girl has a very delicate appearance, very feminine.... but strongly built and good sized, weighing 17.7 lbs at birth and almost 25 lbs at 2 weeks. Goldie is 3/4 Peruvian.... mostly Accoyo from her sire, some Allianza through her maternal line.... with a little colorful Chilean thrown in for good measure. This is a fearless cria who will come up to explore your chair or clothes. Her mother is also a very approachable animal... and seems to offer this nice quality to her crias, like Goldie. Goldie has made herself into a favorite of our host farm....just a very eye pleasing, dancer like cria with alot of spunk! Very nice coverage, a tall cria, moves well and is noticed in the field.
