Crosswind's Selah

Selah is a very feminine dark brown girl who is bred for winter 2010 to our rose grey male JR. Her 2009 cria with Filipe, our Request the Best grandson is a true black female who appears to be an improvement on both sire and dam. Selah has thrown a rose grey cria in the past, so we know the genetics are there. "Pipa" as we call Selah's current cria, is a rich deep black with exceptional brightness. Selah gave birth in early December to a gorgeous, heavy boned light fawn male cria. Bred to our rose grey JR, we didn't expect this color, but he clearly carries possibly the best fleece of the fall crias. Born at 20 lbs and already on the move, we're calling him Juggernaut. Jug is either light fawn or light rose grey (possibly indefinite). He has the genetics from both sides to produce black and grey, and his fleece is very soft. Selah gave birth to a gorgeous bay black female cria out of Domingo on November 8 2011. After getting off to a slow start this little girl is gaining well! Selah is exposed to CMR Ante Up for a March 2013 cria. We know she throws gray, and Ante Up should give that cria the density, volume, and organization that we have found difficult to produce out of Selah. What a great match. Selah's price does not include the cria. On March 8 Selah gave birth to a MODERN gray Ante Up son! this boy is clearly modern gray from day one! He is growing well and at 2 months old is already as big as some of the fall crias! We have named this boy Wild Card in keeping with the gambling theme. We have great expectations for this boy!

Only a handful of really good Black-Point Grays are well known, ANTE UP! easily rivals any of these, both in appearance and genetics. Ante UP! has a pedigree that truly shines, his grandsires are Legacy 6016 (dam sire and only $1.5 Mil. alpaca in the world) and Patagonia's Danko, chosen number one in that Import, an amazing Gray Herdsire. Ante UP!'s sire is Crescent Moon's Valentino, himself a Champion and sire to Champions and his dam is Crescent Moon's Mirage, a Medium Fawn Legacy 6016 daughter and a cherished foundation dam. Other notables in his lineage are Acero Marka's Mr. know it All, Pipsissewa (Valentino's Dam) and Arcuta's Out Back jack.... Ante UP! has an abundance of gorgeously dense and uniform Medium Silver Gray fleece with consistent crimp architecture through-out, awesome conformation, great bone structure, wonderful personality and a stunning presence. 5 of Ante Ups crias in the photo on the bottom!

Description

Pippa carries a high number of well known alpacas in her pedigree. She is a rich bright true black with very fine fiber. She carries black and grey genetics on both sides and should be a great breeding addition for your farm. A slow grower, Pippa will be ready to breed in the fall of 2011. Purchase Pippa and receive free breedbacks to any wholly owned herdsire at Endless Alpacas for up to 5 years. Pippa's dam throws grey, and with all of the greys on her sire's side we expect Pippa will be even more likely to do so. Pippa is exposed to Artemus Cash or Credit for a fall 2013 cria. His density, crimp, and organization of fleece should perfectly complement her fineness and staple. This should be an exceptional cria! Pippa was exposed to Ante Up in June of 2013, a very short breeding was observed. We could not tell based on the ultrasound if the cria was large enough to be a fall birth. We shall see.
