Chardonay is the first cria born to Castle Rock Alpacas and has a special place in our hearts. She has "the look" with great conformation to boot. Chardonay's fiber has a low micron with crimpy long fleece. Her sire is Snowmass Gold Crest who was a Reserve Champion at the Santa Fe Show and 1st in fleece and Get of Sire for Snowmass Legacy Gold. Snowmass Goldcrest was also 1st and Champion at the PNAA Show in 2003. Chardonay's service sire for 2009 was Avalon's Peruvian Satin Charlagmagne. Two years in a row, Charlemagne captured First place and Color Champion at the Great Midwest Alpaca Fest. During her comments, Judge Kristin Buhrmann praised Charlemagne's exceptional fiber and striking presence! Charlagmagne's dam Avalon's Peruvian Satin Chardonnay, was named the Produce of Dam at the Great Midwest Alpaca Fest. Winning runs in the family. Chardonay had her first cria on 9/12/2010. She had a beautiful white girl we named Amelia of Charlemagne. She has corkscrew crimp to die for! Chardonay's service sire for 2010 is Sunny Mesas Tuscon Gold from Bella Vita Ranch. He is a multiple blue ribbon winner whose progeny are making their marks in the show ring. We are very excited with this breeding and...we have a handsome boy born 9/8/2011. He has that Tuscan look and feel with blinding brightness. We named him Tuscany Sand.

Description

Congratulations to Goodrich Alpaca Haven. Tuscany, like his sire Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold, has an exceptionally bright crimpy fleece. He is developing nicely and we are keeping an eye on him for a future herdsire. We like his crimp development, length, color and fineness. We only put him into one show in 2012 as a juvenile and it was one of the largest in the world. He took a 6th place and we were very happy as he was in a tough class and any ribbon was a compliment. He comes from excellent genetics which will only help him with his breeding career. Right now he is grazing on green pastures. Visit our farm and check him out. 2014 Micron is 18.1! Like his dad he is holding his fineness. He will make a great hersire if you are looking to improve fineness.

Awards
