Enterprise cria... criated to amaze! DRUM ROLL, PLEASE! Enterprise has now produced a true black full Accoyo son -- make that two TBs to his credit. You should see his babies! You're gonna want to breed your girls to him--his cria are really extraordinary. And... they range in color from white to fawn to brown to BB and TB. He has even surprised us with silver grey! There is no limit to the possibilities. It's all about "lingering fineness" and he has just given new meaning to it. 2008--17.8/3.2/18.0/0.5 2009--19.5/3.6/18.7/0.6 2010--20.6/3.5/16.8/0.7 2011--19.0/3.1/16.4/0.7 2012--21.6/3.6/16.6/1.5 2013--22.4/4.2/18.6/3.5 We had searched far and wide to find a dark colored full Accoyo male to add to our breeding program; and it couldn't be just any dark Accoyo male. Our criteria were pretty stringent. Correct conformation was a given, along with a perfect bite; genetics had to be some of the best in the industry. His fiber had to be super fine but he had to have remarkable density and a long staple length--it's not always easy to find all three characteristics co-existing in the same animal. And, it had to be radiantly bright with tight crimp. Not only all that, but he couldn't share the same bloodlines as most of our females. We were able to find all these qualities in this young male. So it is with great delight that we welcomed Accoyo Enterprise to our breeding program. He has already proven that he has a continued great future in our Accoyo breeding program. His fleece is characterized by exquisite independent bundling and brightness with a sharply defined crimp that extends to the belly and head; and a full topknot that resembles a mushroom! The best example of this amazing male's production is AOV Accoyo Eros. He's already been awarded 8 blues and 5 championships at a little over a year of age! Eros sold at the recent Breeders Edge Auction and was the second highest selling alpaca out of 77. $1500 for boarded breeding.

Jasmine is a sweet friendly girl. Sometimes it seems she can't see out from under her dense topknot. She was only shown once in the spring of 09 and took a 2nd in her class. We love her conformation and fleece. If you are interested in a quality white animal, take a look at Jasmine. Jasmine delivered her first cria late in September 2013. This baby was born at 315 days and we can't believe how hearty she is. At 3 weeks she had doubled her weight! Jasmine is a great mom and would be an asset to any breeding program. Jasmine has produce girl number 2 for us. Born mid September 2015, this girl has a lot of spunk and is growing like a weed. We really like the kind of mom that Jasmine is and are happy with what she produces.

Rare Gem XXXtreme Spots

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White, Medium Fawn
AOA# 35195405DOB: 7/1/201410 yrs
Our beautiful Spots passed away in March 23 after a lengthy period of paralysis. We have many of his spotted offspring on the farm but his gentle nature will be missed. In my search for an appaloosa, I came to find that finding one on the East Coast (that wasn't related to the girls I wanted to use him on) was not an easy task. Last fall, I found Spots at Rare Gem Alpacas and his track record for throwing spots was "spot" on. Spots arrived in Pennsylvania in the Fall of 2019 and we put him to work immediately. He has an easygoing personality, gets the job done quickly and efficiently and the fleece - well, I don't know that I've had one this dense ever. His shearing this year produced nearly 50% more fiber than anyone else. As you can see from the pictures, the spots are apparent right after shearing but blend in once the fleece grows in. Of the 6 cria he's had on our farm, 4 out of 6 are well spotted. Contact us to put spots in front of your eyes! For a little bit of his history, his previous owner wrote: "Spots" is a new comer to the appaloosa alpaca scene. Spots' appaloosa gene comes from NGG Lional-- a known appaloosa carrier that has been well-proven in Canada but is rather rare in the United States. In the past... in the United States... the appy program has been focused on achieving the spots which required certain genetic combinations, but unfortunately... not always best known for outstanding fleece qualities. What is so special about Spots from an appaloosa breeder program perspective is that he carries elite-fleeced heavy hitter lines in his pedigree such as Legacy, El Nino, and XXXtreme (out of Hemingway) ALONG WITH the expressed appy gene! These elite-fleeced alpacas are known for their lasting-fineness and density. Not only does Spots sport a sweet, easy-to-handle disposition... his fleece is exactly what you would expect from such a stellar pedigree. He is dense and fine and FULL of crimp! Expect lasting fineness from this guy-- his sire, Sai-Hoji, was 21 micron at 11 years old! Spots dam is a beautiful Snowmass XXXtreme daughter. Spots' first offspring arrived 10/17/18... a beautiful appaloosa male. Looks just like daddy... with even more spots! The dam, Faith, is a vicuna brown non-appaloosa gene carrier... so dad is responsible for the patterning. Way to go Spots! Skin Biopsy Results by Norm Evans: Density 69.75 follicles SQ MM, glandular presence 4 of 4, Avg. SP 12.7 to 1. Micron variation 11.3 with an AFD of 20.68. UPDATE / June 2019: Spot's now has 3 offspring on the ground. Two are classic appaloosa and one is a reverse appaloosa. All are exquisite in their own way and we couldn't be more pleased with this fabulous progeny beginning.

Description

Who would have thought our tiniest baby - just 11# would turn out to be the spunkiest one of them all. Even though she was born extremely early at just 305 days, she was up and running right away. She's had great weight gain since birth and has been healthy and playful. She is bold and not afraid to approach people. Her fleece has great density which we expected from a breeding to one of our densest girls and Accoyo America Enterprise. Jemma has continued to grow quicker than any of our other 2013 crias. No one would have guessed her tiny size to start. She is the most friendly, curious youngster we have on the farm.
