What the experts say: - Mike Safely: AOBA Senior Judge, author, & internationally known alpaca expert. When Bolero was shown for the first time ever at the NAAS in 2008, Safely said, “You don't see males this age in the showring, and you don't see males this age with fleece like this!" Praising his fineness, crimp, and DENSITY, over a class of exceptional males from 3-7 years of age - including Champions - Safely awarded Bolero the Blue at 12! - Carrie Hull, Certified Sorter/fiber grader, graded Bolero's 13th fleece on shearing day at Sixth Day Farm May 12, 2009: Grade 2 (Baby') secondaries AND primaries (!) with high scores for crimp, density, brightness, and handle. After more than a decade of managing & showing for a major farm, Carrie became a sorter. She grades thousands of fleeces each year, examining every handful. "Primaries nearly identical to the secondaries in micron and crimp..." - Jim Cocking, Low Stress Alpaca Transport & Kentucky Criations, a nationally respected breeder and alpaca transporter. When he saw Bolero in his 12th fleece on May 11th, 2008, he said, "I've hauled some of the best older males in the business all over the country, and none of them had a fleece anywhere near as nice as this!" - Carol Karsten, Hidden Hill Farm, (breeder of 2009 White Male Futurity Champion ’Dually’), asked when she saw Bolero’s 11th fleece, “What cria is this from?” She refers to Bolero as ‘unique’, and booked four females to him. Offspring: Among the HANDFUL that have been shown: - Status Symbol SSRMT: 6X Champion. - Timbuck2: 3X Reserve Champion, each time behind his brother! - Rhonda: winning blue ribbons at fleece shows at 5 years of age, including the 2008 AOBA Nat'l Fleece Show! - Inti B My Girl: 6X Champion or Reserve,

Award Winning Nova Daughter!

"Cause I'm keeping my baby!" Ever played the "Dream Breeding" game? It's kind of like Fantasy Football but with alpacas. Here's how it goes: If you could breed ANY male alpaca, alive or deceased to ANY female alpaca who would you breed to whom and why? Well last year I was fortunate enough to be able to actually do a breeding that I'd dream't of, CB Bebe Nina to Snowmass Nova and it worked out exactly the way a dream breeding should. We got precisely what we were looking for and a whole lot more. Poppy's birth was a breeze, I looked out at the girls porch at 7am and there was nothing going on. I looked out at the girls porch at 8am and there was a brand new little black girl walking around looking for the milk bar. Poppy weighed in at 19.5lbs IgG of 2200, all the basics in place. She is straight as an arrow, beautifully proportioned and has an excellent bite. In the fleece department she's sporting an incredibly bright, fine, inky blue black fleece (just the way we like it) filled with solid curls, popcorn if I may. All I can say is WOW! She's gorgeous! Poppy has been lounging around for the past couple of years because, quite simply, we had no room for more animals. Now with the move to Huntington and the huge pastures and barn we have room to add some animals. So Poppy was bred, she took the first time and we are anxiously awaiting this Ty Ty cria!

Service Sire: A Paca Fun's Super Sonic

Judges' Choice Gray Male!!

A Paca Fun's Super Sonic

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 32284911DOB: 5/31/201113 yrs
A Paca Fun's Super Sonic is the culmination of 3 generations of breeding for elite gray. Beyond his eye appeal, and solid conformation, Sonic's fleece is exceptional. His fleece is dense, fine and displays a "3 dimensional crimp style" not often seen in grays. It also exhibits extreme uniformity of color, with most of the individual fibers being actually gray (as opposed to a mixture of black and white). All of this in combination makes Sonic one of the best total package gray males we have ever seen... and apparently the Judges agree with us! Following in his sire and grandsires footsteps, Sonic has been a force to be reckon with in the show ring. To date he has 14 championships, 12 of them being won consecutively! On top of this, at VAOBA 2014 Sonic set a new record for gray, becoming the first gray male Judges' Choice in Halter! While success in the show ring is exciting, to us a males true worth is his ability to pass on his traits to his offspring, so it was with eager anticipation that we waited for Sonic's first batch of cria. Well... they are here, and they have exceeded our expectations! Not only is Sonic stamping on his perfect conformation and eye appeal, but the fleeces are some of the best produced on our farm to date. The Judges continue to agree with us, as the first crop of Sonic kids have hit the show ring with a "bang". We couldn't be more excited to watch this 4th generation of our breeding program grow and develop!
