HHF Casanova's Boomer Sooner
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Medium Brown
AOA #1158892 | DOB: 11/11/2004 (20 yrs)
Sire: Caligula's Casanova
1158892<--ari-->White<--color-->The Power of Caz! Very simply, I measure every male I consider for purchase against Caligula's Casanova. He is my idea of a male that approaches phenotypic perfection, pure and simple. Once people get a look at his crias, they know that this boy stamps out his offspring in his likeness so consistently. I have to admit that I occasionally experience an 'identity crisis' when I am surrounded by his cria.
I refer to my purchase of Casanova, consummated during the 2003 MAPACA Show, as the greatest impulse buy of my life. Just for the record, Casanova sired the 2009 Futurity White Huacaya Male Champion, our own Hidden Hill Peruvian Dually. Dually has five championships in all, and four Judge's Choice Awards. Dually's full brother, Pundit, has four championships thus far, and we expect he will add to that list for our good friends, the Perrys of Glacier Rock Alpacas, who now own him. Hidden Hill Peruvian Bonhommie just took the white male color championship at the 2010 Big E. Our female banner winning Caz daughters include Brillanta, Bonhommie's full sister, and Querida. Enough said! Considering that Casanova virtually has been used exclusively at my farm, this is an exceptional record.
Watch for Casanova's offspring this coming spring, because Mary's Alpaca has several show-stoppers that will be huge factors in the white classes. They also have a fawn female out of a Misty Maiden daughter, Akiko Rose, who should be awesome. Too, Warford Creek's little Heart of Gold, who is dark fawn and from the dam that produced the dark fawn multiple champion, Nexxus-Nautilus, is stunning, too -- Nexxus-Nautilus kids have been sweeping color championships and judge's choice awards at major shows.
If you have that very special female that 'has it all,' this is the male that can fine-tune her cria for you, no question about it. I consider Casanova to be a finishing male, based on my use of him.<--description-->
Dam: VA Emily
1158892<--ari-->Medium Fawn<--color-->Emily is not your average Hemingway daughter -- she is so solidly medium fawn, she coaxes our most dominant white sires to let her have medium fawn offspring. Talk about fineness retention -- when I first examined Emily prior to buying her out west, I just could not get past her bright, high frequency fleece, excellent density and character verging on bundling. Then I happened to look at her birthdate -- it said 1997!! I was looking at what was then a six year old female, and figuring her for a girl about to have her very first cria! Well, I took that female and ran home with her. If you can see all that in a six year old fleece, those are genetics you want in your herd. Emily is a small-framed alpaca, but she is exceedingly correct, possesses coverage to the toes and has a nice, typey head to this day. She births with ease and usually has so much milk that I sometimes have to ease her burden by milking off some excess! In 2004, Emily gave us HHF Casanova's Boomer Sooner -- Boomer is medium fawn and his grandsires are Hemingway and Caligula. We sold two co-ownerships in Boomer before he turned a year, and retained a third interest for our farm. He started breeding when he was only eighteen months old! Of course, we bred Emily back to Casanova and, this year, we got a full sister to Boomer Sooner! Ado Annie is light fawn, with the signature Casanova head, dark pigmentation and eyeliner, black toenails...she will launch ships, no doubt about it. Oh yes, her fleece is spectacular as well.<--description-->
Description
Proudly co-owned with our friends Pat Delaney and Rick Patenode of Whispering Winds Alpaca Farm in New Hampshire.
Has this ever happened to you? You're at a farm to look at one animal and out of the corner of your eye you spot another that absolutely takes your breath away. Boomer's perfectly square conformation first caught my eye. Strong typey head, substatial bone and beautiful fawn color round out the picture.
Son of Caligula's Casanova, out of a medium fawn Hemingway daughter, Boomer has the fineness and density befitting his lineage.
