In 2011, we announced that our "newest" herdsire is the very last of the import "B Line" Accoyo males, 6Peruvian Accoyo Tsunami. Tsunami had not been on the east coast before, to my knowledge. For the uninitiated, Don Julio Barreda added the B or Select Line in response to market forces that placed a premium on fineness, and he selected the B Line for fineness as opposed to fleece weights. Tsunami is still possessed of a high frequency crimp style and his primaries have crinkle, something I seek in foundation stock here. Tsunami is back on the west coast and, at 18, still is breeding. We have one fall 2013 cria sired by him, and she is a silky fleece at this time. We bred one female here for a 2014 breeding, and we have our fingers crossed. The fleece on all our Tsunami offspring (and we have only had daughters to date) looks exactly like the fleece shot for Accoyo C'est Si Bon. With fleeces like this, our Tsunami daughters have been hot sellers.

Description

We feel very fortunate to have Accoyo Helena at our farm. She is the product of Phil Mizrahie's best herdsire and breeding decisions. Helena is a Tsunami daughter and a maternal Titan grandaughter. Her fleece is stunning and her genetics tell the story of its quality. Her lineage is very rare and very uncommon here on the east coast. Helena is pure white. Her fleece bundles together in tight clusters. She is dense, and she is soft. Her crimp has a high frequency and is consistent all over her. She is a joy to look at and to touch. We really love this girl! First thing in the spring our plan is to breed her to Accoyo Invasion. Invasion is a Royal Fawn grandson who has 8 championships, 16 blue ribbons, The Best Brightness Award and The Judge's Choice Fleece Award. All of this isn't nearly as impressive as how his offspring have done - to date - 18 championships, 6 Best Brightness awards, 3 Best Crimp awards and a Judge's Choice Award. He is obviously passing on his elite fleece to his sons and daughters. We think he will make a perfect match for Accoyo Helena. We have not yet blended these west coast genetics with Invasion, but let me tell you, we sure are excited to try!
