Our herd is known for its exceptional fleece. So when we were choosing our newest herdsire, although we knew we wanted full Accoyo color, we were not willing to deviate from our high expectations for fineness, density, brightness, handle & crimp. When we found Cuba, we were impressed with everything about him, especially his 16.4 micron! The handle of his fleece is extraordinary, & to top it off, he is one of the darkest full Accoyos around. We were delighted when Rainy offered half ownership of him & jumped at the chance to get a part of this select, beautiful male. Cuba's genetics are rare & known for producing elite offspring. His sire, Accoyo Express, is 1 of only 5 offspring (and the only male) born to Accoyo Albus before he was exported to England where he continues to win get-of-sire. Express's cria have won more than 70 championships! Cuba's dam, MFI Accoyo Tequilla Sunrise is the product of Accoyo Suzana, a white import owned by Magical Farms & the recently deceased Accoyo icon, Leon. Cuba's maternal siblings include Cuervo Gold who stands stud at Magical Farms & La Viva Loca, the highest selling female at the 2007 Futurity. Cuba has been given ribbons by some of the most respected judges in the country including Amanda VandenBosch, Wade Gease, Charlene Friedman, Jude Anderson and Tim LaVan. He competed in difficult classes & placed above some big, well-known farms. His conformation & coverage are excellent & his fleece is amazing. We are counting on Cuba to produce elite quality cria that are up to our high standards for fineness & density. We also expect him to throw color - lots of dark color from this very, very dark full Accoyo boy who has an excellent chance of being able to produce black. We decided to match Accoyos! @Double Stuff Farms introductory breeding fee offer. So if you're willing to bring your girl to our farm for a little rendezvous, you can save big. He is here at Ideuma Creek from 6/15-3/15 each year.

The focus of our close to 20 year breeding program has been fleece - fine fleece, dense fleece, fleece with a long staple length & fleece that is consistent in fineness, crimp & color. Our primary focus has been fleece. When cria are born, we evaluate them on their fleece quality & conformation - color is often a bonus & has not been a focus for us. So when we got that "gotta have a grey" compulsion and began looking for a grey herd sire to breed to some of our best fleeced girls who have generations of ancestors here on the farm, we had some very high expectations in mind. We don't want to just produce greys. We don't want to just produce a nice grey. We want to be able to produce nice greys as consistently as we've produced elite fleeced whites & fawns. When I saw Mattie for the first time, I was impressed. When I felt Mattie for the first time, I was in love. Then the research began & the fleece samples were requested & the micron reports were gone over with a fine toothed comb. It quickly became evident to me that Mattie could produce beautifully fleeced cria consistently for our farm. His fleece is exquisite. With a low micron and a low CV, his fleece has a buttery feel & an uncommonly soft handle, especially for a grey. His staple length rivals some of the best at my farm. He has consistent, tight crimp & has few spots on his blanket. Mattie's genetics are among the best in the business. His sire is Lancaster, owned by Flying Pony, whose genetics are so sought after, he has over 300 cria. Mattie is among only 6 grey males that Lancaster has ever produced. Lancaster's sire is Conan whom we've admired for years. We have several Conan offspring here on the farm and rarely part with these genetics. Mattie's dam is a ribbon winner herself who has produced gorgeous cria including a Judge's Choice winner. We are proud to co-own Mattie with Gentle Breeze Alpacas & Out of Sight Alpacas.

Bred 2 Grey Lancaster Son

Description

This little fawn full Accoyo girl is very special. Her dam is PHA Accoyo Allizandra, a full sister to Accoyo Stratosphere. Her sire is Double Stuff's Accoyo Cuba Libre, an Express son and a Leon grandson. She's got lineage on her side and her ancestors are filled with color and the capability to produce black. Leon is well known for producing some of the darkest full Accoyos in this country. Little Ezmeralda has a big pedigree to live up to. From the looks of her right now, she's going to do it. Ezmeralda has incredibly fine fleece - no doubt inherited from her sire whose micron was just 16.4. She has exceptional staple length and high frequency crimp. She feels like she is going to be very DENSE too. She is the total package. We bred Ezmeralda to our silver grey Lancaster son, Peruvian Grey Matter. She is due with her first cria in the middle of July 2016. Ezmeralda is proudly co-owned with our good friends Mark and Robin Widmer of Pleasant Hills Alpacas.
