Our herd is known for its exceptional fleece. So when we were choosing our newest herdsire, although we knew we wanted full Accoyo color, we were not willing to deviate from our high expectations for fineness, density, brightness, handle & crimp. When we found Cuba, we were impressed with everything about him, especially his 16.4 micron! The handle of his fleece is extraordinary, & to top it off, he is one of the darkest full Accoyos around. We were delighted when Rainy offered half ownership of him & jumped at the chance to get a part of this select, beautiful male. Cuba's genetics are rare & known for producing elite offspring. His sire, Accoyo Express, is 1 of only 5 offspring (and the only male) born to Accoyo Albus before he was exported to England where he continues to win get-of-sire. Express's cria have won more than 70 championships! Cuba's dam, MFI Accoyo Tequilla Sunrise is the product of Accoyo Suzana, a white import owned by Magical Farms & the recently deceased Accoyo icon, Leon. Cuba's maternal siblings include Cuervo Gold who stands stud at Magical Farms & La Viva Loca, the highest selling female at the 2007 Futurity. Cuba has been given ribbons by some of the most respected judges in the country including Amanda VandenBosch, Wade Gease, Charlene Friedman, Jude Anderson and Tim LaVan. He competed in difficult classes & placed above some big, well-known farms. His conformation & coverage are excellent & his fleece is amazing. We are counting on Cuba to produce elite quality cria that are up to our high standards for fineness & density. We also expect him to throw color - lots of dark color from this very, very dark full Accoyo boy who has an excellent chance of being able to produce black. We decided to match Accoyos! @Double Stuff Farms introductory breeding fee offer. So if you're willing to bring your girl to our farm for a little rendezvous, you can save big. He is here at Ideuma Creek from 6/15-3/15 each year.

The focus of our close to 20 year breeding program has been fleece - fine fleece, dense fleece, fleece with a long staple length & fleece that is consistent in fineness, crimp & color. Our primary focus has been fleece. When cria are born, we evaluate them on their fleece quality & conformation - color is often a bonus & has not been a focus for us. So when we got that "gotta have a grey" compulsion and began looking for a grey herd sire to breed to some of our best fleeced girls who have generations of ancestors here on the farm, we had some very high expectations in mind. We don't want to just produce greys. We don't want to just produce a nice grey. We want to be able to produce nice greys as consistently as we've produced elite fleeced whites & fawns. When I saw Mattie for the first time, I was impressed. When I felt Mattie for the first time, I was in love. Then the research began & the fleece samples were requested & the micron reports were gone over with a fine toothed comb. It quickly became evident to me that Mattie could produce beautifully fleeced cria consistently for our farm. His fleece is exquisite. With a low micron and a low CV, his fleece has a buttery feel & an uncommonly soft handle, especially for a grey. His staple length rivals some of the best at my farm. He has consistent, tight crimp & has few spots on his blanket. Mattie's genetics are among the best in the business. His sire is Lancaster, owned by Flying Pony, whose genetics are so sought after, he has over 300 cria. Mattie is among only 6 grey males that Lancaster has ever produced. Lancaster's sire is Conan whom we've admired for years. We have several Conan offspring here on the farm and rarely part with these genetics. Mattie's dam is a ribbon winner herself who has produced gorgeous cria including a Judge's Choice winner. We are proud to co-own Mattie with Gentle Breeze Alpacas & Out of Sight Alpacas.

Description

Arlington is a first in many ways here at Ideuma Creek. She was the first Cuba Libre cria born here on our farm. We waited a long time after purchasing half ownership in Accoyo Cuba Libre to see what he could produce. Arlington was no disappointment. Beautiful, brilliant fawn fleece, density plus and the cutest fleecy face you can imagine peered up at us. She has nice crimp and suffice to say we can't wait to get a micron count on her! Her fleece looks to us to be some of the finest on the farm. She has a soft, buttery handle. Another first at our farm - in over 15 years of raising alpacas, Arlington is our first true bottle baby. The reason - a long story - the result, a friendly, personable, human-loving girl. She comes running from the far ends of the pasture when she sees you coming. I have fallen in love with this girl. I will sell her only to the most loving and caring home. Arlington was our first cria born in 2012. She came early, over Memorial Day weekend. We thought naming her after the hallowed National cemetery in VA was apropos. Arlington comes from wonderful lineage. Her dam is a Victor daughter and her sire is an Express son. Since both Victor and Express have both thrown black cria, there is that possibility for Arlington as well. Arlington has proven herself to be an excellent mom and had a gorgeous cria for us in 2015. She slipped her pregnancy in 2016 but is bred for her second cria due in July 2016. She is bred to Peruvian Grey Matter. Arlington is proudly co-owned with our partners and good friends at Stone Ridge Alpacas, Dean & Terry Lucas.
