Wow, what a raving beauty she is! If you ever had the chance to see Raven you are sure to remember her. Raven's got what the judges are cravin' - she racked up 3 Color Championships as a Juvi and as a yearling continued to captivate the judges, earning another blue and 2 MORE Championships! She finished her long show career proving herself to be definitively one of the top 3 black females in the country. Tim Lavan at NIAE after awarding her the championship said Raven had the "best fleece & finest micron in the class. . . put your hands on this girl & you won't even know you're touching a black." This girl's show record is a mile long and with 5 championships to her credit, she's one of the most decorated black females in the country. But the glamour hasn't gone to her head, she's also one of the sweetest girls on our farm. THAT'S SO RAVEN!
The most incredible luster in true black fleece; ridiculously ropey locks to the skin and fine, cool, silky handle on this girl. Beautiful suri wedge head, full-fleeced face and beard; density and coverage head to toe; plus presence - this girl is a show-stopper. With grey grandsires on both sides of her pedigree, maroon parents and her gleaming black locks; black, maroon, and grey crias are on the horizon for our breeding program and we couldn't be more excited.
Raven was bred to our own MacGyver's Armed and Dangerous and with 16 championships between them; Raven's first cria Apollo Creed is a gorgeous true black male of the utmost quality with Mom's ropey fleece. Raven was then rebred to MacGyver's Armed and Dangerous and had a gorgeous dark brown daughter Rhiannon. Both Apollo and Rhiannon have taken blue ribbons and both have taken a Championship.
This year we are very excited to see what Raven can do with our Champion Bad Bad Leroy Brown. As Leroy's dam has produced 7 cria, 5 of which were black, and his sire has also thrown black, we think this combo may produce something black and spectacular in 2010.
Congratulations and Thank you to Laura Lee of Buckeye Country Alpacas where Raven will be making her new home!
