Proudly Co-Owned with Rancho Chico Alpacas Diamond is a very rare alpaca, with two full Peruvian colored parents, both carrying fine genes, and retaining their fineness into late adulthood. His crias have nearly all been dark, all have been under 20 microns, with typey heads, and those entering the ring are taking home ribbons. My visit to Rancho Chico to see the crias was what sold me on Diamond. I would tell you to come here to see some crias, but every female I have bred him to . . . has sold. Last year, I returned home with Pandora, a beautiful black daughter from a pick of the litter off the farm. And this year, look at our 2012 cria, Onyx and Mocha! His son Hermoso, shown, took 4th in AOBA composite class, and can be seen at Rancho Chico. Rancho Chico is retiring, and their half interest is for sale. A fantastic option for Snowmass genetics, for dark fine fiber that persists for years, for typey heads and square compact bodies, for darker offspring than the dam that improve in one generation in both conformation and fiber, with intellect and personality.

Description

We just couldnt be more pleased with our Diamond offspring. These two (Onyx and Mocha) are a month apart but Mocha has nearly caught up. Their faces make it easy, one feminine and one masculine. But they are stunning, their fiber is the fine, dark buttery luxury fiber that makes alpaca so special. The dams are sisters, so these two are not a surprise, in their looks. Nor is their quality. If you dont take Mocha off my hands, he will be watched as backup for Diamond. Ruby is young, so you can tempt us to sell Onyx (Nixie) while we can still put dam and sire together. You will not be disappointed.
