Callie is one of our foundation females….She is a sweet girl and easy to handle. Always in line for a treat. We sent Callie down to Texas to be breed to Escondido’s Makulu, (14 blue ribbons, 4 white color champ. And 3 reserve champ titles.) Wow Callie being a maiden lost her pregnancy twice before we were able to bring her home and sure she would hold the pregnancy. That made a late birth, but come Dec. 07, 2010 she had a beautiful baby girl ‘Kokomo’. She was so funny watching this first time mom, with a very independent cria. She would have her head in the hay and chewing her cud forgetting she was a new mama, and then she would stop, look up and start looking around almost panicked until she found her baby, and then continue to eat….This went on for the next few days until she figured out Kokomo would find her when she wanted to nurse…Funny moments of a alpaca farmer.
